The Research On Tourism Industry Cluster Competency Based On GEM Model

Now, the study of industry cluster has been an important problem of regional economy and industrial economy. Industry cluster becomes a new dot of world economy. It is improving the development of the whole world. The industry cluster is important to enhancing all kinds of competency. This makes it important to study industry cluster competency. There are many discussion and research about tourism industry cluster. The research of tourism industry competency from industry cluster is meaning. But the most is the qualitative analysis. The paper tried to apply GEM model to tourism industry, this is a method of quantitative analysis.After summarizing other correlative research and learing from other tourism industry competency's indices, the author built the indices which is the same with tourism industry cluster. The author made questionnaire to experts for getting indices weight. Then the author made questionnaire to Weihai tourism enterprises for getting each index score. Finally,the author calculated the GEM competency score.The innovation is applying the new model------GEM model to quantitative analysetourism industry cluster competency. And this paper analysed the characteristics and conception of tourism industry cluster, built the indices system of tourism industry cluster competency. Finally, the paper analysed Weihai tourism industry cluster competency using GEM model.It is the first to applying GEM model to analyse tourism industry cluster competency. So there are many deficiencies. But it is successful to measure Weihai tourism industry cluster competency. Finally the paper provided the advice for government and enterprises.
