Benchmarking, which is a sound cycle of management activities, refers to the following of the model's advanced experience and overcome one's own weak points, in order to improve competitiveness and even to reach and surpass the model's level. In this thesis, the author first explains the connotation and development of Benchmarking system. Then he makes a case study of Langzhou Power by the analyses in three aspects: the need of Benchmarking system by a power grid enterprise like Langzshou Power, which has a target in creating a first-class enterprise in the power industry; the variety of Benchmarking system that fits to power grid industry; the three aspects of a power grid's work in creating a first-class power enterprise. By analyzing the function of Benchmarking system the author comes to the conclusion that such a system can improve key competitiveness of a power enterprise. Based on the case study, the author puts forward ways of application of model-following management system to the power industry and provides certain statistics. The ultimate purpose of the author is to introduce some key measures for Langzhou Power to improve its comprehensive competitiveness and to provide some reference for other power enterprises.
