Research On The System Of Scientific Research Management Based On ASP

Scientific research is an important part of internal management of scientific research institutions. And establishing an information system of scientific research management can greatly enhance management efficiency and provides scientific basis for the decisions of executives. With development of Internet and Intranet technology, adoption of networked management mode has become exigent requirement of scientific research management and ASP is the very new suitable mode. Its most obvious characteristic is providing applications to multi-users from one location remotely based on wide area network and the basic mode is thin client, fat server under B/S structure. It can well resolve the problems such as poor cross-platform and open nature, inconvenience of maintenance and upgrade, high operation cost of some present scientific research systems. The application of the mode not only increases the degree of automation, reduces administrative costs, but also creates significant internal and external changes in the means of information exchanges, which will bring scientific institutions new universal competence in work flow management, management mode, organization structure and even the development of the entire system.Based on the analysis of the ASP mode, the structure and function modules of scientific research management system based on ASP are discussed and analyzed, with CIMS center of Dalian University of Technology the study sample. The main work of the paper is as follows:First, the general demands for scientific research management are analyzed. The functional demands focus on four parts: news and affairs center, information input, information inquiry and statistical reports. And the users of the scientific institutions are analyzed, combined with the analysis of user authorities in each module.Second, the structure and key techniques are discussed. The three-layer B/S structure is used for the platform and Active Server Pages, IIS(Internet Information Server) and SQL Server are chosen as the key techniques.Third, the main functional structure is given: personnel management, project management, scientific research production management, workload management, news and affairs center. And the respective work processes and data flows are discussed and analyzed, which make the functions more clear and the platform more operable.Some shortcomings of the system are also discussed in the paper, but overall, it is of certain theoretical and practical significance to networked scientific research management.
