With the development of tourism industry and the increasing demand of the tourism talents, higher vocational education of tourism develops very quickly. The higher vocational colleges become cradles for training advanced, technical and practical compound talents. The vocational education is to make students acquire knowledge and technology for their jobs. The training objective is to make students acquire special knowledge and practical skills to become the talents of advanced technology and management in the first line of production management and service. It is a key to design tourism course for achieving the training objective. n order to achieve the objective, it is necessary to persist employment—orientation, to link with market demand and employment market and to adjust the course to the change of society and situations. In recent years, there are some problems in course design for training, such as not suiting market demand, academic orientation, theories without practice, no objective, no creativity, no connection, ignorance of students' roles and reality and so on. There are few studies on tourism course design for vocational higher education, not to mention some practical and feasible methods.This thesis takes the analyses of the main features of the tourism market demands, the needs and changes of the labor force market as the access to analyze the present condition of the course design majored in tourism. Combined with the requirements of The Ministry of Education's View On Strengthening The Training Work For Talents In The Higher Vocational Colleges And Training Schools Issued by the Ministry of Education, it views how the tourism major course design adapts the constant changes of the tourism market as the main research direction to explore the course design from practice and theory by the way of documentary, survey and experience summarizing etc.. Getting the benefit from the similar research results in foreign countries, as well as the author's own experience, the thesis provides us with solutions to the problems of how the tourism course design fits the demands of our country, such as fixing the training goals, reforming the course design, enhancing the development of new course, bringing the use of outstanding course into the course design,setting the direction of the course design development, forming major characteristics, reinforcing the ties with other colleges and enterprises to strengthen the adaptation of the course design. This thesis also investigates how the course design develops and how it adapts the tourism markets form various aspects and perspectives.
