With the development of market economy and the improvement of modern enterprise system, large state-owned enterprise, as the pillar of national economy and central sector of economic system reform, adjusts the activity of production and at the same time, the executive of large state-owned enterprise have more power to management and the range of mastering become wider and wider, so is the key role of the enterprise. But we all know, the risk and complexity of management is also strengthened. Whether be motivated effectively is so important to affect the ability of themselves and further more to the performance of enterprise. For traditional performance appraisal and reward system not adapting to the demand of the society, it is necessary to redesign a new system to assessment the performance and pay the executive of large state-owned enterprise.This paper studies on the problem of performance management and reward system of large state-owned enterprise in China, introduces the history of methods on performance management, and then shows the procedure and approaches of it. This paper discusses the problems of the current situation in the performance management and reward system, put forwards to the necessary to reform the existing system. Binding with the traits of large state-owned enterprise, points out some related measures, which provide effective guidelines to incentive executives. At last, take an example of enterprises belong to CNPC(China national petroleum corporation), along with the designs referred to above, it sets up an index system for it. Based on the principle of combining qualitative and quantitative analysis, presents a set of method about performance management and reward system on executive of the enterprise.
