Study On The Relationship Between Performance & Potential Of FDI And Sustainable Development In Shandong

Nowadays, with the rapid development of globalization, FDI has already become a powerful engine which impels the global economy growth and the society development greatly. But FDI also has a lot of influences to the host country, in terms of the economy, society, policy, resource and environment. Whether the high performance of FDI led the enhancement of the sustainable development ability, whether the area with high potential of FDI also has had higher economical sustainable development ability, as well as how to gain double wins for foreign capital using and the economical sustainable development, these are all important and urgent research contents to be solved.As one of the economy developed coast provinces, Shandong province depends on greatly foreign capital. FDI has already become an important aspect which promotes economy growing. Using theories and methods concerns on regional economic geography, regional economics, international investment, and sustainable development economics, the thesis systemically expounds the theoretic relations between the performance/potential of FDI and sustainable development of regional economy. After analyzing the temporal and spatial disparities of performance and potential of FDI in Shandong, by the relevance and the gray incidence analysis, the author had further confer the relationship between the performance/potential of FDI and sustainable development of economy in Shandong.Through qualitative and quota analysis, the main conclusion of the article is:First, the performance and potential of FDI keep on ascension. But the general level is not very good comparing with other coast economy developed provinces, and the level difference of all the cities is obvious;Secondly, the influence of FDI is not very steady, also regional distribution characteristic of the foreign direct investment potential has not certainly displayed a remarkable relevance with the typical factors of economical sustainable development. The contribution to the region economy sustainable development contribution needs to enhance in the future.In order to promote the economy sustainable development of Shandong, the thesis proposed regulative strategies for foreign investment of Shandong. The main content included the source ground of foreign capital, the industrial structure, the region difference, the project verification and so on.
