Research On Evaluation The Core Competence Of The International Container Liner Enterprises

After entering into WTO, our shipping market opened to outside gradually. What's more, foreign shipping enterprises rushed into our shiping market in succession and carve up our shipping market, which caused our shipping enterprises, especial container liner enterprises faced cruel change and severely competition. Under this situation, how to foster core competence has become an urgent question for our container liner enterprises.Today, the theory of core competence has become a very important tool that can be used to analyze the competition and the development among the enterprises after many years' developing. With the depth of adjustment about global industrial structure, and with the acceleration of process about global economy unionization, establishing the core competence and shaping the constant competitive advantage, is the key that an international container liner enterprise can survive and grow in the drastic market competition.This paper firstly introduced the research background and main content, and then looked back and summarized the course of study on the core competence theory to compose a theory frame for the following research. Then the paper investigated and analyzed the evolution of containerization on ocean shipping, international container liner market, and our container liner market, which suggested that it was necessary for the container liner enterprises to cultivate core competence in the global competition. Combining with the characters of liner industry, the paper set up an evaluation index system. And then 15 liner corporations picked out from top 20s in container liner industry were evaluated synthetically with catastrophe progression method and set pair identical degree analysis method. Based the above evaluation, a contrast analysis between the core competence of the container liner corporation in our country and ones in other countries was conducted. Finally, the paper proposed detailed suggestion and measures to foster and promote core competence for our container liner enterprises.
