Beijing - Hangzhou Canal is an important waterborne trunk line between south and north in china. As an important part of Shandong province transportation system, Beijing - Hangzhou Canal shipping always plays an important role in the development of the canalside economy. The paper studies the close relationship between Canal (In Shandong province) shipping and canalside economy (In Shandong province) by demonstration and model analysis. The results show the importance of the development of Canal (In Shandong province) shipping to the canalside economy (In Shandong province).First, the paper reviews the development history and trend of Canal (In Shandong province) shipping generally. Second, this article dissects history and trend of the canalside economy' development (In Shandong province) under the influence of Beijing - Hangzhou Canal (In Shandong province) shipping. Then, from the perspective of quantitative and qualitative, the paper studies particularly the relationship between Canal (In Shandong province) shipping and canalside economy (In Shandong province), and gets the grey incidence between them to show the importance of the development of Canal (In Shandong province) shipping to the canalside economy (In Shandong province). Finally, the paper supplies several advices about harmonious development between Canal (In Shandong province) shipping and the canalside economy (In Shandong province).The results of this thesis display that there is a close relationship between Canal (In Shandong province) shipping and the canalside economy (In Shandong province). So it will help government recognize the relationship, and provides decision support to government for establishing the strategic program of Canal (In Shandong province) shipping, meanwhile, provides some scientific advices for the development of the canalside economy (In Shandong province).
