The Historic Industrial Sites Regeneration Under The Force Of The Creative Industry

The creative industry is the most impactful industry at the present time, which is influencing evidently in different aspects of urban development: the economy, the culture, the society, and the structure. In the developed cities like Shanghai, the creative industry brought large quantities of conservational regeneration in historic industrial sites. A lot of phenomenons in the new age show that the conservation and regeneration of historic industrial sites has become an important topic.On the one hand, this thesis concluded the characteristics and special requests from the city of the creative industry, based on the analysis on the situation of creative industry development in different countries. On the other hand, this thesis summarized the characteristics and value of the historic industrial sites, based on the theories and the practices in the whole world. Since the characteristics of the historic industrial sites and the creative industry got some close corresponding, this thesis focused on the relationships between these two objects, supported by the case of the "M50 creative industrial district".The result shows that: "the historic industrial sites are the carriers of the creative industry, and the creative industry provides a new conservational regeneration mode for the historic industrial sites".Furthermore, this thesis analyzed the affection and disadvantages of the plan for the historic industrial sites nowadays. It discussed about the special evaluation system of the historic industrial buildings, the flexible usage plan for the buildings, the reduction of controlling to the inside designs, and the policies, in order to help raising a new planning system aims at the regenerating historic industrial sites effected by the creative industry.
