The main stream of the world tourism tends to be moving from sightseeing to holiday tour. In the developed countries, holiday tour has taken up the predominant position in the tourist industry, and in China, the holiday tourism is also flourishing. In the light of the rapid development of the tourism both at home and abroad, many groups in the relatively developed areas set higher demands on the holiday tour products, which in turn impels the holiday tourism products to be upgraded, updated and restructured. Thus the high-end holiday tourism comes into being.Though high-end holiday tourism is a popular form of tourism in Europe, America and other developed countries, it is newly in China due to the less developed economy. However, as people's incomes increase, high-end holiday tourism market in China will certainly be larger and larger. As one of the economically strong provinces in China, Zhejiang has approached the internationally-acknowledged level of "upper-middle class income" in 2005. Zhejiang has become the most important part of the Yangtze Delta economic area, and has the favorable conditions of developing high-end holiday tourism.The thesis first explores the development history, the status quo and future trend of holiday tourism both in China and abroad. Based on a large amount of data and information collected in advance, the pertinent infrastructure conditions of Zhejiang in developing high-end holiday tourism are analyzed in details in terms of resources, social economy and traffic location, followed by a SWOT analysis of the development conditions of high-end holiday tourism in Zhejiang. Based on the analysis of the status quo of the development of high-end holiday tourism in Zhejiang, the market analysis of the high-end tourism products are carried out in terms of both the supply and demand of the market. Compared with the development experiences and history of high-end holiday tourism in the developed countries, the market prospects of high-end holiday tourism products in Zhejiang Province are forecasted. Finally, the paper probes into the development principle, spatial layout, and development strategy of the high-end holiday tourism in Zhejiang, and conclusions are reached accordingly.
