The Marx's economic philosophy is formed in the interaction between economics and philosophy. The two great findings of Marx-materialism and the theory of surplus value- are also formed in the interaction of economics and philosophy. The organic whole of them is the nature and feature of his economic philosophical ideology. The scientific practice theory is universally considered as the symbol of materialistic during the period of Marx, by his scientific and profound expounding of such concepts as, modes of production, production relations, productive force, economic basis and superstructure, enabled historical materialism to become the advanced economic philosophy in history that has not been surpassed so far. Meanwhile, Marx, beginning with the analysis of commodities and on the basis of the theory of labor value, made detailed analyses of the whole process of capitalist production, circulation, distribution, and consumption, profoundly revealed the law of the development of capitalist economy, and created the surplus value theory. All of his scientific expounding and analyses were resulted from his studies of economy, the deepening of which was the necessary condition for the formation and development of historical materialism. The article has made a profound, systematic study and analysis on Marxist economic philosophical thoughts and made some progress in this research field. This thesis concentrates itself on the analysis of the relationship between his studies of economics and philosophy. It begins with the start of his study of economics, and reveals step by step at what historical background his historical materialism was formed and developed. Then it makes an analysis of the relationship between the whole process of his studies of economics and the formation of his historical materialism. The analysis shows that they were closely connected, for his studies of the former contained ideas of the latter. Marx's new method is not only on philosophy, but also on economics. It is the combination of philosophy and economics. Because Marx has an economical method, Marx's philosophy is not metaphysics. And on the other side, because Marx has reached historical materialism, so, his economics is also better than the other's. We can see clearly that he applied historical materialism in the study of economics. Finally, the thesis comes to the conclusion that the methodology of Marx in his studies plays an important and guiding part and has practical significance in our research of economics and philosophy.
