The Poverty of Philosophy is famous as a polemical work between Marx and Proudhon, but its embryonic position in the history of Marx’s development of economic philosophy has not yet been systematically and publicly expounded. The economic philosophical ideas of The Poverty of Philosophy are the initial results of the materialist-historical view guiding the study of political economy, and contain the germ of Marx’s later philosophical works on economics. Therefore,it is of great significance to interpret this text of The Poverty of Philosophy. In The Poverty of Philosophy,Marx’s political economy and philosophical critique of the French petty-bourgeois thinker Proudhon had three reasons: first,it was based on the urgent practical requirements of the backward socio-economic situation in Germany at that time;second,Proudhon’s provocation of Marx and the negative impact of his theory on the working class;third, the critique of Proudhon’s idealistic view of history was the development of Marx’s own thought The path of necessity. In order to continue theoretical innovation, this issue needs to be clarified. Therefore,to interpret The Poverty of Philosophy,it is necessary to start with a critique of Proudhon. In this critique,Marx takes the materialist historical view as the philosophical premise and method of critiquing political economy, exposes Proudhon’s idealist tendency in treating the nature and relationship of the categories of political economy, and achieves a change of attitude toward Hegelian dialectics and the labor theory of value. It can be said that "The Poverty of Philosophy" is the scientific starting point of Marx’s economic philosophical thought, the most important text at the beginning of the emergence of Marx’s economic philosophy, which contains a wealth of economic philosophical ideas.Starting from the text where Marx’s economic philosophy was formed,i.e.,The Poverty of Philosophy,it is possible to fully understand the beginning of the emergence of economic philosophy, and then truly understand its connotation and essence. Here, the main part, based on the formation of Marx’s new worldview and the study of classical political economy as a background, uses the method of deconstruction to clarify the content of Marx’s critique of Proudhon’s economic and philosophical views, including the critique of Proudhon’s economic categories, constitutive value theory, philosophical foundations, and other aspects of economic philosophy,so as to clarify the starting point of the study of Marx’s economic philosophical thought, the methodological basis of science, the The three basic views and the corresponding three basic principles, namely, economic categories are the abstraction of social relations of production, productive forces determine social relations of production, and the exploitation of labor by capital is the root of economic contradictions. And with the help of the mature economic philosophical views in Capital and other economic works,it discusses the deepening and development of Marx’s economic philosophical thought, highlighting the important position of The Poverty of Philosophy in the history of Marx’s economic philosophical thought.Theory is always closely connected with reality. On the basis of in-depth analysis of Marx’s economic philosophy texts and exploration of the connotation of economic philosophy, combined with the practical and theoretical impact of The Poverty of Philosophy on the economic development of different times and countries since its publication,it shows that Marx’s economic philosophical thought in the new era of social development trends, for the study of economic philosophy disciplines, the understanding of the contradictions of economic globalization and The contemporary value of the three aspects of China’s comprehensive deepening of economic system reform, thus demonstrating that the combination of Marx’s philosophy and political economy is a process of continuous innovation and development, and that Marx’s economic philosophy is an open theoretical system with important research value and guiding significance.
