Research On The Optimization Project For The International Transportation Network Of China EMS

This paper aims to research and analyze the existing problems of the international transportation network of China EMS, and propose relevant optimization project by employing the Management theories. With the opening-up of China's market, EMS, the mainstay of China Post, is facing now more and more fierce competition from those international couriers like FedEx,DHL,UPS,TNT and other private couriers. Therefore, this research and the optimization project for the international transportation network of China EMS suggested in this paper obtain a very important practical significance on guarantee the time limit, strengthening the competitiveness, enlarging the market share of international EMS and satisfying better the customer demand. This dissertation introduces the existing development of the international transportation network of China EMS from the aspects of the processing workflow of international EMS mails, the transportation network and the establishing of exchange offices of international EMS. Meanwhile, by adopting the methodologies of competitive environment analysis and SWOT analysis, this paper analyzes four main existing problems of the international transportation network of China EMS, including: (1) the instability of international airlines' transportation capacity; (2) the irrational domestic processing workflow of international EMS mails; (3) the contradiction between the time limit and cost of establishing the exchange offices; (4) the weak network control, the low-level technologies, the unconformity between the management and network development. Considering of the operation orientation of China Post's international EMS, the development trend of international transportation network and the integrated framework of domestic EMS transportation network, borrowing the network framework experiences of main rivalries, this paper, from the aspects of production operation management, proposes two-stage optimization project for the international transportation network of China EMS, including:1.Adjusting the establishing of exchange offices in accordance with the Mode of "Nanjing Distribution Center + Three main exchange offices + Exchange offices beyond the radiation area of distribution network + Border exchange offices".2.Adjusting domestic processing workflow. International EMS mails processing should learn from domestic EMS mails processing workflow and transportation network, reduce the redundant domestic processing processes for international EMS mails, that is to say, form three layers including Collecting Office, Transit Office and Exchange Office, and deliver by Mail Unit to the world.3.Strengthening international airlines' transportation capacity. In view of the business development, China Post independent airlines from Nanjing Distribution Center to Japan, Korea, America and the Europe should be opened opportunely. For other important flight courses, the form of charter containers should be adopted to improve the transportation capacity.4.Focusing on the construction of those corresponding supplementary systems, including: enhancing the capacity of three main exchange offices, for example placing forward the location of security and inspection entrance, striving for customs clearance within 24 hours, and so on; improving the information system construction; reform on the management system; and strengthen the workforce training system etc.
