Research On Interest Requirement Of Core Stakeholders Of Small And Medium-sized Enterprises

In about 30 years since China's reform and opening up to the outside of the world, we are having a wave of setting up business and a rapid growth of SMEs(small and medium-sized enterprises). But many enterprises just appear briefly. Some SMEs seem not to survive in their development. It is estimated that in our country nearly 30% private SMEs disappear in 2 years and about 60% in 4 or 5 years. Generally speaking, that the SME owners ignore other stakeholders' interest requirements has an adverse effect on the development of SMEs. Consequently, under the circumstances that SMEs have limited resource and capability, SMEs should focus on several major core stakeholders. Studies on the core stakeholders' interest requirements can provide guidelines for the sustainable and sound development of Chinese SMEs.Based on the researches on stakeholders made by scholars both home and abroad and the features of SMEs, the dissertation proposes that the core stakeholders of SMEs contain shareholders, managers, and employees. Take productive SMEs in Nantong City for example, the interest requirements of core stakeholders of SMEs are defined and their statistical sort results are given through experts' survey approach, questionnaire-investigation and statistical analysis, which is on basis of reading literature and references. Moreover, to assure the scientific logic of the research result, a detailed study on the interests of employees in SMEs is conducted in particular, which is based on the analysis of primary elements and structure. The conclusion of these studies is that the core stakeholders' interest requirements of SMEs are complicated and vary from each other.According to the studies, the dissertation suggests that the SMEs should adopt common magagement system; the investors (shareholders) of SMEs should change their mind on interest distributions to avoid conflicts with other core stakeholders. Meanwhile, the author puts forward some improving measures from three aspects such as enhancement of family trust of SMEs, implementation of stock options and corporate culture, which has practical and theoretical value for reference.
