| During the course of industrialization in traditional economy period, many resource-type(RT) cities sprang up as their resources being developed. With the cities' development and the attenuation of their resources superiority, RT cities became more dependent on mining. However, at high exploitation speed, mineral resources in layer drop down sharply while the costs rise up continually, both of which weaken the cities competition.The developing mode of those production-centered RT cities couldn't adjust to the market-centered economy environment. Depending only on their natural resources and foreign investment may lead to fragile local economy. How to convert the RT cities' industry-pattern under current condition is being an inevitable problem, which unable be dealt with by these cities themselves, but should be solved as an important and special one by the country utilizing corresponding policy to be establishedBased on the analysis of some representative RT cities' current case (Yunnan Geju etc),this paper gains insight into the contradiction root limiting cities' development and summarize the current conditions and rhythms of RT cities in our country.
