When tourism is an important social activity of human being,tourism industry is the biggest industry in the world and is also one of thequickest developing industries. Obtaining the enormous economic effects,tourist industry has brought up a lot of problems, which outstandingly isshown by the conflict among the tourism economy benefit, theenvironment and society culture. As experience testified, simple politicalsteps and economic methods and legislative means can not resolve theseproblems effective.ly. By the end of twenty century, sustainable tourismdevelopment theory centering on ethics has become the main current inthe tourism research gradually, and it is already a consensus thatsustainable tourism development requires the theory support and practiceguiding of tourism ethics.The rapidly expand of tourism industry require the large amount oftourism management professionals, and it also has driven thedevelopment of tourism higher education. The sustainable tourismdevelopment has lots of demands to the tourism management majors,which not only richening in tourism professional know ledges andmastering professional skills, but also the higher tourism moral cognitionlevel and the stronger tourism ethics decision activity. Otherwise, it isdifficult for the decision-makers and directors in the tourism developmentensure the tourism development sustainable.The research of tourism ethics problem in the homeland is stillplaced in the starting state. On one hand, it is not related toundergraduates' tourism ethics education regardless of the researchachievement of the tourism education is numerous; and on the other handstudies of tourism moral cognition level Of the tourism managementstudents and the tourism ethics education in the higher schools still is avirgin land. These two aspects and the connections between themconstitute the theme of this research. This paper using moral cognitionand moral cognition development theory and the research achievements of tourism ethics and tourism ethics education, performs the study in twoaspects: first, this text employs the research method of foreign tourismmoral cognition, and then adopts Multi-dimensional Ethics Scale to testthe tourism moral cognition level of tourism management students;second, this paper chooses 24 tourism management college as sample toinvestigate the training objective and curriculum design, but also analysestext books for tourism management majors in 21 century to investigatethe condition of tourism ethics education in our country.There are mainly three findings in the research result:The first, the whole of tourism moral cognition level of tourismmanagement students is somewhat lower;The second, the tourism moral cognition level of grade four studentsis higher than that of grade one students;The third, the tourism management major in 24 schools ignores thetourism ethics education, and the tourism management textbook are lackof the content of tourism ethics education.Tourism higher education is related to the development of 21 centurytourism management talents, and basically guarantees tourism in ourcountry sustainable. Based on the experience of the tourism moralcognition level of tourism management students, and the fact of tourismhigher education neglecting tourism ethics education, this paper putsforward some suggestions: to refresh education ideas and specify traintargets; to reform the curriculum design and strengthen the ethicseducation; to enrich textbook and stress on case study; to emphasize thedirection of exercising and reinforce the link of practice; to value theteachers construction and build education atmosphere.
