In the tide of economic globalization, private enterprise is faced withthe pressure of survival and competition. How to get sustainabledevelopment is a difficult problem for private enterprise. They mustimprove competition power in management to solve this problem.Family-managed enterprise is the main kind of Chinese private enterprise,which is the combined result of the enterprise's scale, traditional cultureand specific social environment. Since 1990s, many private enterpriseshave employed professional manager after reaching to some scale at onetime, but it seems unsatisfactory as a result. And then, the discussionsabout how to select professional manager of private enterprises, inside oroutside of family, become more and more popular in theory and inpractic. So, it has not only of practically but also theoreticallysignificance to discuss selection mechanism of professional manager inprivate enterprise.In this thesis I proceed with analyzing evolvement process ofselection mechanism of professional manager in private enterprise, andthen evaluate the advantages and disadvantages between professionalizedmanagement and family management objectively with historical method.And in the following partⅠanalyzed comparatively selection mechanismof professional manager overseas, especially in America and in Japan.From compare, we can get some useful insights for building selectionmechanism of professional manager in our private enterprises. In nextpartⅠbuild a contingency model based on analyzing many aspectsespecially environment inside and outside which private enterprises faced.At last I get conclusion that this selection model including such threemethods, inheriting from family inside, selecting from enterprise insideand recruiting from market, they have their own advantages anddisadvantages, but they can be used together. Enterprise should maketheir choice rationally and integrate in reason in order to obtain the most excellent combination of enterprise's human resources. We can'tperorate without exception that which is good between professionalizedmanagement and family management. It needs to be analyzed practicallyand to select the most rational management model. This is a researchdirection in the future.
