Research On Corporate Governance Of Insurance Companies In China

Insurance industry developed rapidly in China in the past few years, and played an important role in the development of society and economy. Nevertheless, there are a lot of problems about corporate governance in insurance industry, which conflict with the need to establish systems of modern insurance corporations and further develop insurance industry. After entering the WTO. with the end of the protection of insurance industry, insurance companies in China have to face the sharp competition with foreign insurance companies. Therefore, the study of management in domestic insurance corporations has a great meaning to improve their competence.This article briefly reviews the development of business management, discusses the modes of business administration, analyses the current management of domestic insurance companies, and compares the management between domestic and foreign insurance companies, further discusses the influences on management of insurance companies caused by specialties of insurance industry. It also points out the serious problems exist in the management of domestic insurance companies, like the control of large domestic stockholders, distemperedness of directorate construction and insufficient functions of board of supervisors. After sufficient considering of the specialties of insurance industry and China's special institution, and combining with the management experiment of foreign insurance companies, this article puts forward some solutions, such as optimization of the shareholders' structure, improving the directorate construction, better mechanism of inspirits and restrictions, and establishment of corresponding laws. At last, it makes a demonstrative analyse of the corporate governance of China Life Insurance Company.
