Consumer credit is a financial product that emerges to harmonize the conflicts between consumption and production, as the economy developed to a certain stage where the credit system is quite sophisticated and the growth rate of consumption lags behind that of production.Consumer credit in China got off the mark with the introduction of the housing system reform, but it did not come into full-scale implementation until the central bank's issuance of the Guide for Personal Consumption Credit Operation in March 1999. In our market economy, consumer credit can be an important measure to adjust consumption demand, stabilize the economy and ameliorate the quality of commercial banks' assets.The consumption credit has its characteristic whose risk is indefinite. At the same time, our commercial banks are lack of risk management experience of consumption credit. Lastly, the deficiency of individual credit is a problem that will increase the risk of the business of consumption credit of commercial bank. So it is important to research how to manage the risk of consumption credit of commercial bank in our country.This article can be divided to four chapters. The first chapter is summarization about the consumption credit business and the consumption credit risk of the commercial bank. The second chapter researches the status of consumption credit in developed countries, and also their experience of the management of the consumption credit risk. Chapter 3 generally introduces the consumption credit and its current situation in our country, analyzing the main problems in the management of the consumption credit in our commercial banks. The last chapter put forward the main thinking of manage the consumption credit risk, including standardize the internal management of commercial bank and establish a better social of circumstance.
