Rural tourism in China began from 1980s and developed at the late 1990s. Because of the development of economics, revenue and consumer structure, rural tourism as one kind of emerging tourism form was on the rise in our country. The rural tourism has the vital significance for constructing the harmonious society and socialism new countryside. 2006 was decided as "the Chinese Rural Tourism Year", rural tourism resources of Wuhan is rich, the prospects for development are huge.The first part of the researches introduced the rural tourism basic concept and the correlation situation, pointout the development of Chinese rural tourism is at the initial stage at present,, exist so many questions.The second part separately make the summary and the introduction from overseas and the domestic of the rural tourism development experiences.The third part carry on the analysis on the Wuhan rural tourism present situation.The fourth part make the SWOT analysis on the situation of the rural tourism ,and point out it has the broad prospect.The fifth part is the key point of this article, through the research, inview of the Wuhan rural tourism present situation, advance the development strategy, attempt to seek the best method to develop the rural tourism and doptimize the local rural tourism pattern for leading the village economy development.
