The Challenges And Countermeasures Of China's Banking Industry After WTO Transition Period

On December 11, 2006, as a WTO member, China, fulfilling the promises that are made when entering WTO, cancels the regional restrict and customer limitation of foreign bank on managing the RMB business in China, and grant the national treatment to the foreign bank on promise basis. This implicates that after 5 years transition period, the foreign banks will unfold the all-direction fierce rivalry with Chinese banks, the banking will meet a newly trend merging, the new market competition pattern will be formed step by step. On January 2007, National Conference on Financial Work implies the Chinese finance, which is experiencing the reforming pain, is going to meet its historic point of reformation.This paper try to compare the theories and opinions on banking reform that rose by scholars from oversea and home, and advance that Chinese banking reform should focus on state-own banking reform, at the same time, enforce the innovation of financial management. This paper based on relevant data, by comparing the difference between Chinese capital banks and foreign capital bank, the competitive situation of the three listed state-own banks, three levels comparative analysis on competition power of Dongguan Construction Bank among other banks, eight core business of the foreign banks after their transition period, challenges brought by the foreign banks, strategies of Chinese bank for the competitions to discuss the existing problem on banks. At last, raise the "four management", "one channel" suggestions, which emphasis on brand operation, customer management, service management and marketing channel.This article can be divided into six chapters.
