The key of an enterprise to establish and keep a long-term competition advantageis to establish a competition strategy to meet with the request of the real strength andthe environment. Foshan Building Design Institute is transfers a limited-liabilitycompany in 2004 by the institution which the system becomes, its predecessor is theFoshan Housing and Real estate Adminitive Bureau Design Office which was built in1971. Being a traditional intelligence-intensive and knowledge-intensive servingenterprise, with 36 years developed, the Foshan Building Design Institute (FSBDI)faces with a problem to go into the market completely. It needs to apply the theoriesand the methods of enterprise strategic management on the research of thecompetition strategy of FSBDI.In the thesis through five forces and SWOT analysis, the writer puts forwardsome constructive ideas to the growth of FSBDI. The paper is composed of fivechapters. The first one is introductory, which briefly introduces the research object,background, research goals and the framework of the paper. Moreover, the papercarries on the review and the summary to the strategic theory, thus establishes theformulation enterprise strategy theory frame. The second chapter introduces thedeveloping process and prospects of domestic and foreign architectural designprofession first, then applies five forces analytical model to analyze the macrocompetition environment in the industry, mainly focused on those majorcompetitors. The third carries on the brief introduction to Foshan Building DesignInstitute. The fourth chapter is pointed to Foshan Building Design Institute. SWOTtool is used to analyze its external opportunities, threats and internal strengths andweaknesses, with solutions also proposed. Based on the above chapters, the last onediscusses several main development strategies of FSBDI.At present, the reference to the building design institute strategic research is quitelimited in domestic. The writer tries propose some own suggestions for FSBDI, basedon the work experience there and theories of strategy. We hope it will be a worthwhilereference to the developing of FSDI designing market. At the same time, the author also hoped in the article studies the content can provide certain enlightenment for theconstruction profession to other enterprises. Along with society's progress,globalization advancement quickening, the strategic theory development, in thisarticle some analyses, the viewpoint and the measure must unceasingly theimprovement and the consummation.
