Disscussion On The Models Of Feeding Garden For Dairy Cattle

Milk is rich in protein, various vitamins and minerals and is considered to be the ideal food to humans. China's dairy industry has developed very rapidly due to the development of economy and society, gradually improving of living standard for people, and the increasing demand for health and nutrition. There are 12,161,000 dairy cattle in China by year 2005, which contributes to 2,846,800 kg of milk production and milk per capital consumption was 21.7 kg. Dairy belongs to a long chain industry and it has a huge development space in China. Dairy industry has becoming the breakthrough points in adjusting agriculture industry structure, developing agricultural economy and improving farmers' income. Although dairy industry is one part of the whole agriculture, it has been of great importance in implementing the "moderate prosperity" program in a well-rounded way.The big difference of milk consumption indicated a potential developing space for dairy industry. Milk consumption only accounts for 20% of the world level by the year 2005, however, the consumption volume by rural residents only accounts for 1/10 of the urban residents. With increased milk consumption volume, especially the demand for fresh milk is increasing, dairy cattle husbandry develops rapidly and has becoming a very important way to increasing farmers' income. However, there are still some problems related to dairy feeding techniques, farm management, populization of dairy science and technology, and the quality, sanitation and safety conscious of the farmers.Dairy raising area(DRA) is a kind of middle scaled special farm which consists of lots of independent farmers. DRA is a newly born thing with Chinese characteristic and is proven to be the realistic choice for accelerating dairy husbandry in countryside. DRA has the deeply impact on enhancing dairy productivity in the following aspects: 1) breached the Chinese urbanhouseholds' economic limitation, 2) developed Chinese Family Contract System, and 3) acerbated the progress of intensive feeding system. The dairy management pattern has changed due to the developed dairy husbandry and DRA is a kind of new production and management pattern. Large scaled DRA is more suitable to the modern production. Because large farms are economicly more efficient than the small farms. DRA can centralize the capita and prompt the dairy husbandry.Intensive feeding and DRA facilitate mechanization production, breeding improvement, technical extension , social service supply, decreasing feeding cost and increasing feeding efficiency. It has proven to be the right way to the development of high productivity, high quality and high efficiency dairy husbandry by using moderate intensive management. DRA meets the market economy and our current situtiation, and is a good vector for construction of the New Socialist Countryside.The development of Small Raising Area Pattern for dairy cattle is the demand of construction of New socialist countryside. Construction of Harmonious Society is relevant to development of harmonious countryside. Relaxing and solving "Agriculture, Countryside and Farmers" Problem are the foundation for construction of harmonious society. As New Socialist Countryside is suitable to our national situation, DRA is also suitable to the development of countryside and Farmers within a long time period.
