With Chinese 2008 Olympic Games around the comer, while people being expectingOlympic Games to approach, the people in telecom industry being more expecting 3G businessto approach. The road of 3G license issuing have past such roughly many years, and now,finally arrived at the last year. Discussion about the operators' competition in 3G epoch has alsobeen more and more heat. Base on researches of the formers, I deliver my own view: how tobuild the core competence ability in the 3G epoch.This paper solves two problems: one is the competition evolvement of 3G mobileoperators, the other one is the 3G mobile operators how to build the core competence ability.Make research of the first problem to search what's 3G mobile operators' final competitionability, and then make research of the second problem to search how to build it. The operatorsenter 3G market by order, and their power is different, so their competition strategies turndifferent with time goes on. The evolvement route is: output competition strategy——pricecompetition strategy——difference competition strategy——the enterprise core competenceability. The enterprise core competence ability is the final point of the mobile operators, andhow to build the core competence ability is center topic. Base on the industry value chain theory,the paper makes research on the 3G industry chain, analyze the orientation of the operators inthe 3G industry, and give some suggestions to conform resources to build the enterprise corecompetence ability.
