The Development And Decision Research Of Flower Industry In Liwan District Of Guangzhou

With the development of scientific technology and globalizing economy, overseasand demestic flower industry grow rapidly with each passing day. As a flower town with ahistory of over one thousand year, how will Liwan District of Guangzhou(Fangcun)develop its flower industry, keep the predominance of the flower industry and make itstronger especially during the process of citifying? It is a question need to be researched.Based on the apprehension of the development trend of international flower industryand the development characteristics of demestic flower industry, the paper brings newproposals and measures of developing the flower industry of Liwan District byinvestigating and analyzing the current status of the flower industry of Liwan District.The new proposals and measures are: make overall arrangement and combine allresources of the flower industry to form a strong industrial center; propel the flowerindustry to turn to the third industry from agriculture industry while the third industryemphasizes on the development of market, logistics, culture, tourism and informationprojects; concentrate headquarters of big flower enterprises home and abroard, andsupport flower scientific research with governmental policy and fund; intensify thepromotion of key technology and application, and improve the innovative ability and thescientific content of flower products; develop flower auction and establish effectivecirculation system of auction; continue to construct Guangzhou Flower Science andTechnology Park and make it become "Silicon Valley" of Chinese flower industry.The thesis collects a large amount of first-hand data by interviews mainly.Interviewees includes 47 persons such as leaders of industrial management department,village cadres, principals of foreign-funded flower enterprises and local enterprises, chiefofficers of flower markets and logistics companies, flower brokers and local flowerplanters.The paper embodies originalities to the research of the current situation of Li wanflower industry for the new proposals and measures on developing the flower industry ofLi wan District are maily from interviews and the writer's experience and thought afteryears of working experiences in the flower industry.
