In recent five years, the consumer credit quickly developed in China, and the competition in this market become more and more fierce among the commercial banks. As the amount of consumer credit increasing, many problems and risks are revealed. The commercial banks should improve the ability of recognition and analysis of the risks in consumer credit, and take suitable measures to prevent them.On the basis of the theory of the risk management of consumer credit and the experience of American commercial banks, together with the practice in China, we analyze the credit risk, the market risk and the operational risk, point out that the operational risk is one of the hugest risks in consumer credit. Besides, we deeply analyze the key risks of the main products of consumer credit in commercial banks, and discuss the main risks in business operation on the basis of"case study".At the end, we point out that the object of risk management is maximizing the profit, and the risk management should help develop the consumer credit instead of hinder it .We also discuss a series of measures on the risk management, such as establishing the sound system of the risk management in the commercial banks, cultivating the consciousness of the risk management among the employees, improving the ability of quantitative analysis, strengthening the banking management and preventing operational risk, developing the securitization of credit, etc.
