Application For PMC In Construction Projects

With the trend of the economic globalization, the fast development of the science and technology, the scale, the content and the requirement of the projects are getting bigger, more and higher. The higher requirement for the project management against to the traditional project management methods had been requested. With rapid economic growth of China the western project management theories has been adopted in China since 90s'. Among them PMC (Project Management Contract) has been concerned by lots of project owners due to its particular characteristics.This article firstly will state the characteristics of the PMC, and to compare with traditional project management methods in applicable conditions, main content of management, execution, etc. By using some actual examples to guide the theory with practice and show the application of PMC with theory, and to prove the limitation of the traditional project management methods and the advantage of PMC. In the end, article will point out some inefficiency of engineering companies and project management companies of China in construction projects management, and give suggestion and recommendation.This article will argue the practical application of PMC in construction projects of China by combining the theory and practice which writer had experienced in the project in past few years. And the writer will give the personal suggestive recommendation to engineering companies and project management companies of China in construction project management.
