The purpose of this article is to provide a description of motorcycle-bulb industry and the new challenges and opportunities derived from the big change of motorcycle industry for Philips Automotive Lights (Hubei). As accessory supplier, motorcycle lighting market is compatible with motorcycle market. With a series of policy of motorcycle industry were implemented, such as permission of produce, 3C certification and identification etc, motorcycle market get more regulated and motorcycle industry structure is changing. At the same time, restriction and banning of motorcycle in many cities had influenced seriously the industry development. Rural area and town market and international market become two main source of profitability. A comprehensive factor which combines brand, distribution channel, quality, price and service has been becoming competitive advantage in the motorcycle lighting market for original equipment manufacturers. And in motorcycle lighting market for after-sales market, low-price and poor quality products still predominate of all bulbs. With the improving of economy and increase of income, consumer prefers high quality bulbs to maintain their motorcycle. We also give a description to electrical bike and its lighting market situation.Because of big changes in motorcycle industry, the motorcycle light industry encounters a strong challenge. But also have a chance to make breakthrough of marketing. In the first chapter, we describe and analyze the motorcycle industry which is motorcycle industry's down-stream market, and also forecast its developing trends. In the second and third chapter, we elaborate motorcycle bulb industry including current situation, main manufacturers, distribution channel and the usage of motorcycle bulbs. In the last chapter, based on the previous analysis we conclude the challenges and opportunities for the motorcycle bulb industry. Also we map out the marketing situation for domestic brand and international brand bulb. According to marketing theory, this article is written on a marketing research for Philips Automotive Lights. This paper aims at making an analysis on the relationship between two industries and dealing the dynamic situation, thus provides strategic reference for the motorcycle bulb manufacturers.
