| The tourism industry has entered the high-speed development stage featuring"everywhere could be the potential tourism destination, and everybody could be the potential tourist". The intensifying competition resulted in the change of the trend of tourism planning from resource-based to market-oriented till image-oriented period. The distinct, unique and attractive tourism destination image (TDI) has become the powerful weapon of a tourism destination in competition. The issue of TDI attracted unprecedented attention from the academy and industry.This paper discussed the background and significance of the TDI research, and conducted a multidisciplinary and comprehensive analysis and conclusion on the related researches home and abroad, applied some theories and methods in Tourism, Tourism geography, Tourism planning, Marketing and Communication, linked the actual situation of Xingwen closely with a combination of macro and micro perspective, theoretical analysis and empirical study. The methods of literature study, statistical analysis, questionnaire, comparative analysis and model building are employed in this research. Specifically, this paper includes following 4 parts: Firstly, this paper disserted on the background and significance of the TDI researches based on the characteristics of the time which the tourism industry is in.Secondly, this paper summarized the domestic and foreign researches on TDI, carries out a comparative analysis of two and forecast the trend of TDI issues.Thirdly, it established a set of image construction framework which consists of the measurement, planning, publicizing and dissemination of the TDI and the assessment of the TDI transmission result. For the research of publicizing of the TDI, it identified the scope of audiences of TDI transmission. and summarized four strategies of TDI transmission and the use of the media. For the research of the assessment of the result of TDIC, it put forward a range of methods such as the popularity, affection and recognition of TDI, tourists'satisfaction and the evaluating index of the result of mass communication. The research focus is placed on the evaluating index which comprises the spread of the TDI, the recognition, memory of TDI, the change of attitude of audience and the actions promotion.Fourthly, under the guidance of theoretical study, this paper constructs a system of TDI for Xingwen, including three parts which are the measurement, planning and transmission of TDI of Xingwen. |
