Study On The XML-based Supply Chain Simulation Modeling Discription Method

With IT technology and the development of globalized market economy, enterprises are facing new opportunities and challenges, and the concept of supply chain has been applied and developed, which gradually leads to a new management mode -Supply Chain Management and the theory of supply chain management. The modeling and analysis of supply chain technology is the important aspects of supply chain management study. Because of the complexity and uncertainty of supply chain system, simulation becomes the main method to supply chain modeling with their abilities and advantages of description and solving problems. The key factor to impact on the effectiveness of supply chain analysis is the lack of knowledge sharing and communication between supply chain researchers and developers, which leads to the consequence that a supply chain model with a lot of effort to design can only be applied to a separate supply chain. The causes of this kind of problems is lack of a readily available supply chain format, which is the purpose of this paper.This paper first carefully studied the new standards of data format - XML, and under the guidance of previous studies, XML-based supply chain simulation modeling language-SCSML was proposed, which provided a way of description for supply chain model. In this way, the establishment of supply chain model will have a set of pre-defined templates to simplify the modeling process. Each supply chain model can be repeatedly used in different platforms, methodologies and researchers, aiming to enhance the universal character of models, thereby improving the efficiency of supply chain management. Then the paper discussed the feasibility and principle of applying SCSML to simulation, and took a contemporary pop, full-featured, superior performance, easy to use and flexible simulation package Arena for example, to verify the practicability and convenience to establish supply chain model with SCSML.Due to the time and my limited level, currently, there is no in-depth study for the methods of supply chain modeling and simulation software XML interface settings.
