Along with the development of the urban tourism, academic circle has paid closer attention to the research of the competitive power of urban tourism than ever before.This paper selects chengdu city as the object of study,discusses the factors that dramatically affect the competitive power of urban tourism,and then onstructs a junior model of the competitive power of urban tourism. Then we made use of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate many aspects of tourism competitive power of Chengdu,Chongqing and Hangzhou,to find out the superiority and insufficient of Chengdu.Finally,we concluded some useful way to solve those problems.This paper includes six parts.The first part: Introduction.This part introduced the background,significance, a train of thought and method of the study.Then ,by summarizing research results and formers in home and abroad,give the problem of the research that the competitive power of urban tourism in our country.The second part: evaluate the competitive power of urban tourism.Basing on the Potter's"diamond"model and the characteristics of urban tourism,constructs a junior model of the competitive power of urban tourism.Basing on the model,a index system has been established,and selecting the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as the main method to evaluation the competitive power of urban tourism.The third part:the comparative analysis and appraisal of the urban competitiveness of Chengdu city.To compute the score that the competitive power of Chengdu,Chongqing and Hangzhou.And then finding out the order of the indexes.Finally,we can contrast the cities.The fourth part:the disparity, superiority and countermeasures of the competitive power of Chengdu tourism.On the basis of above analyses, the author have carried on the analysis to the insufficiency and the superiority, and proposed some countermeasures in the analysis foundation to Chengdu's traveling competition promotion.The fifth part: the end.
