Research On The Regional Economie Disparity And Coordinated Development In Shannxi Province

This thesis's main line is the regional economic disparities of Shannxi provinee. The thesis makes a deep study on the changing process of regional economic disparities. It combines with qualitative and quantitative,mpirical and normative,dynamic and static methods analysising the changes in the process,space features,and its influencing factors .The research discover that: (1)Three regional per capita GDP and per capita GDP indicate that whether its absolute disparities or relative disparities have a gradually expanding trend from 1990 to 2006. (2)We found that regional economic disparities have obvious geographical feature in Shaanxi Province by calculating the per capita GDP, this is same to the traditional three regions. In 1990, the central Shannxi's per capita GDP is the highest, southern Shaanxi is the second, the lowest is the northern Shaanxi. showing a "high in the middle, low on both sides" characteristics. In 2004, Northern Shaanxi became the highest , central Shannxi is the second, southern Shaanxi fall behind. (3)When we use principal component analysis study through the 13 representative economic indicators can found that Xian is the richest, other centeral shannxi cities'economic are well, northern Shaanxi region's economic growth is very fast, southern Shaanxi in comprehensive economic strength is weak. (4)We found that central Shannxi'economic disparities have expanding trend, southern Shaanxi and northern Shaanxi have the decreasesing trend through the decomposition Thiel coefficient. The province's economic disparities is mainly caused by central Shannxi , southern Shaanxi and northern Shaanxi's contribution to economic disparities continue to decrease. Three regions 'development is very uneven, although inter-regional contribution rate has been reduced in 1990, the economic impact is very quite significant.The thesis analysis the factors impacting on economic disparities. We believe that natural conditions and geographic conditions,preferential policies,rules,industrial structured and human capital are the main factors. These factors interact each other and lead the regional economic growth, the result is the expanding regional economic disparities.Regional economic disparities counite to expand will produce a series of negative impacts. The developed countries' experience show that the excessive expansion in the less developed regions will make it stand in a disadvantageous position, its supplying primary products ability may become weak. If it maintain a long time, the developed areas will be affected by the shortage, then the regional developmoent decline. On the other hand, economic disparities can cause economic and social instability. So Shaanxi province to must take a coordinated economic development way. (1)Xian should play an leading role to strengthen other region's economic development. (2)Northern Shaanxi should improve the efficiency of resource to make a comprehensive progress. (3)fousing on southern Shaanxi'Landscape advantage, give it some more support. (4)Strengthen cooperation. (5)Start to develop main functionarea.
