The Study Of Jiangsu's Scientific And Technological Progress And Economic Growth

Economic development has made people more aware the huge role of the science and technology in economic development. Science and technology not only as a material force, as the first production to promote productivity accelerated development, but also an ideological or spiritual force to promote society progress. Scientific and technological progress have become the primary factor in contemporary productivity. China has fully recognized the important role of the science and technology in economic development. The state further implements the strategy of revitalizing and strengthens the mind that science and technology are the first productivity .The economic development shifts to rely on scientific and technological progress and quality of laborers.Science and technology need face the main economic battlefield and economic development need rely on science and technology. Since it is recognized that progress of science and technology play a positive role in economic growth, economists and other scholars on the subject have great interest to participate in the study of the role of the scientific and technological progress in economic growth. Therefore, in-depth study on relation between scientific and technological progress and economic growth, correctly understanding and evaluation the role of scientific and technological advances in economic growth , and making quantitative analysis is of great theoretical and practical significance.Applying qualitative and quantitative analysis,this paper makes a systematic study on the relation of scientific and technological progress of Jiangsu Province and economic growth. First, the paper systematically states the main theories of economic growth, the meaning of scientific and technological progress, the calculation method of the contribution rate and explains the relationship between scientific and technological progress and economic growth in theory: scientific and technological progress is by changing the mode of economic growth and optimizing the economic structure to promote economic growth ; Second, it states Jiangsu Province's technological progress and economic growth profiles; Then, it makes empirical analysis about Jiangsu Province scientific and technological progress and economic growth, including: first, it uses Solow "residual value" method of combining Cobb-Douglas(C-D) production function and Solow model to calculate the role of scientific and technological progress in economic growth in Jiangsu Province; second, it analyses Jiangsu Province alternative mode of economic growth with constant elasticity of substitution equation, analyses the industrial structure of Jiangsu Province, and predicts Jiangsu Province's 2006-2010 regional GDP with the model of ARMA; Finally according to the results of the empirical analysis of Jiangsu Province and the actual situation ,it raises the corresponding countermeasures on the use of scientific and technological progress to promote economic growth fast.
