Study On The Framework Of Tourism Interpretation System In Shennongjia Nature Reserve

Interpretation system is a very important component in various aspects of tourist destinations. It is necessary for tourist destinations to play its educational function, service function, and the function of use. There are lots of studies on tourism interpretation system in different types of areas worldwide, such as the wilderness and national park, river and museum tourism interpretation system, etc.. However, until now there is not an integrated tourism interpretation system framework for nature reserve. In order to protect abundant resources of nature reserves in China, and to achieve a win-win situation between protection and tourism development in nature reserve, tourism interpretation has been chosen as the entry point and study object. It is expected that by establishing the framework of tourism interpretation system in nature reserve to resolve the conflict between protection and tourism in the development of nature reserve.Shennongjia National Nature Reserve has been chosen as the research object of this paper to expatiate the effect of tourism interpretation system in nature reserve. After on-site interviewing and researching, the problems existing in the tourism interpretation system of Shennongjia nature reserve have been pointed out, for example, lack of typical interpretaton media, glancing content, obscure position, unstandardized designing, delay of updating and costly price in the self-directed tourism interpretation system; insufficient guides, high price or unprofessional guides in wizard tourism interpretation system. Meanwhile, via the methods of descriptive statistics and correlative analysis, this paper has discussed tourists'socio-economic background characteristics, tourism characteristics, and the pertinence of demands of tourism interpretation in Shennongjia nature reserve.64.2 percent of tourists deem that interpretation system is necessary for tourists'traveling and can meet demands of tourists'. 25.5 percent of tourists, who not care about the interpretation system, do not use the interpretation system. 10.3 percent of tourists deem the system is not essential. It is obvious that most of tourists still hope that the tourism interpretation system should be established and improved in Shennongjia nature reserve, in order to help them have good trip. Thus, bases on the relative data analysis and theoretical study of tourist psychology, tourists behavior and decision-making, tourist experience and natural reserveslogy, as well as the analysis of elements of tourism interpretation, this paper brings the RPMA franmework of tourism interpretation system for Shennongjia nature reserve. It contains four parts, evaluation of tourism interpretation resources, compartmentalize of provisions, the design of media types and the analysis of audiences. Meanwhile, to highlight the diversity of biology, the function of ecological conservation and the unique geological landscape in Shennongjia nature reserve, this paper gives specific designs for the interpretation content.This RPMA framework of tourism interpretation system in Shennongjia nature reserve tris to find a creative way of resolving the conflict between tourism development and environmental protection by analyzing the aspect of tourism interpretation system; focuses on how to guide tourists directly via tourism interpretation system, which breaks the traditional ways emphasizing on the protection of resource while ignoring the management of tourists. However, due to the constraints of time and the scope of study, the applying of the results of this study in other types of nature reserves needs to be further verified. Thus, in order to achieve overall sustainable development of nature reserves in China, the author suggests that the study of interpretation theory and practice, the evaluation of interpretation effect, the establishment of interpretation feedback system in nature reserves should be focus on.
