Analysis On Chinese Paper Industry Competitiveness

With the rapid development of Chinese economy and improvement of living standard of Chinese people, there is a huge market demand for Paper products. And with Chinese accession to WTO and the economic globalization, Chinese paper industry has to face more and more opportunities and challenges. China has been the second in the world of paper consumption and production. Under the fierce competition from both national and international market, both the Chinese government and the paper company have to pay much more attention to the situation and influencing factors of Chinese paper industry competitiveness, and the way to improve Chinese paper industry competitiveness.This thesis is mainly divided to 6 parts: the first part is a introduction of the background , the method used in this thesis, as well as the technical approach; the second part review some classic theory and models on industry competitiveness; the third part introduce the character of world paper industry, and the situation of Chinese paper industry; the fourth part is based on the theory of Porter's "Diamond" model (PDM), analysis the influencing factors of Chinese paper industry competitiveness; the fifth part uses those classis models discussed before as a reference , builds a evaluating factor system for Chinese paper industry competitiveness, and a multiple linear regression model to discuss the influencing factors of Chinese paper industry competitiveness; the sixth part gives advices on government policy and company strategy; the last part gives the conclusion, innovation point and the shortness of this thesis.According the analysis of the thesis, Chinese paper industry competitiveness keeps on promoting recent years, it has many advantages, as well as disadvantages. The industry competitiveness depends much on the resource, market structure, company strategy and policy. The government and the whole industry must be cautious to make proper policy and strategy.
