The purpose of this paper is to analyse the reform of compensation system in the Agricultural Bank of China Panjin branch. The paper introduces the general situation of the Agricultural Bank of China including the current human resources management practices, staffing, and organization structure of the Agricultural Bank of China Panjin branch. Then this paper describes the compensation reform of the Agricultural Bank of China Panjin branch in detail. Also using interviews and survey methodology, the paper obtain understanding from the branch manager (branch president for sub-branches) and ordinary workers about the pay system. Finally, according to human resources management and compensation theories, the paper gives a detailed analysis of compensation system and reform in the Agricultural Bank of Panjin CityThe analysis is conducted from the following angles:1. Internal consistency analysis. Without a scientific and systematic analysis of the positions, the pay system would not reflect the differences in the importance and value of various positions.2. Analysis of external competitiveness. This analysis focuses on comparing the pay level of the branch bank with other competitive employers in the local labor market. A too lower pay level would cause a high turnover of employees.3. Individual Contribution analysis. Agricultural Bank of Panjin City intends to pay employees based on their contribution to the enterprise. This analysis focuses on evaluating whether the current pay system has sufficiently identified individual emploeyes'contriubition and rewarded them accordingly.4. The pay management analysis. This part of anaysis focuses on examining the cost and effectiveness of pay management in the Agricultural Bank of Panjin branch.
