Study On Competitiveness Of Urban Tourism For Jinan

Urban tourism, which embodies the national competitiveness and regional competitiveness for tourism, has occupied pivotal position in China tourism industry. The study of urban tourism competitiveness is one of the frontier fields in modern tourism study. Recently, with the increase of tourism competition, academic circle has drawn closer attention to the study of urban tourism competitiveness than ever before. The deep level analysis and the correlative theory system analysis are very little at present researches on this problem. Based on lots of investigation and analysis of materials, this thesis makes a deep study on the urban tourism competitiveness for Jinan. The basic theory of the paper is economics, urban theory, marketing, ethnology, tourism theory and so on.Based on developing of China urban tourism and current situation of study at home and abroad, this article attempts to define the definition of urban tourism competitiveness and elaborates the basic theory of urban tourism competitiveness. Then using the Porter Competitive Model, IMD World Competitiveness Model and the Arrows Model of Doctor Ni Pengfei for reference, the article attempts to set up the evolutional model of urban tourism competitiveness in order to give some right suggestions for the research on urban tourism competitiveness. According to these basic theories, the thesis analyzes in very detail the environment about urban tourism for Jinan, such as economic environment, characteristics of tourism resource, market structure, transportation environment and technological environment, then construction an index system of urban tourism competitiveness. The index system contains practical competitiveness index, potential competitiveness index and support competitiveness index. Furthermore, adopting the model of AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), this study estimates urban tourism competitiveness of Jinan city in an all-around and systematic way among ten cities in Shandong Province. Based on the analysis of the results, the thesis probes into strategic countermeasures to improve urban tourism competitiveness for Jinan city. To sum up, the innovation about the thesis mainly contains systematical basic theory of urban tourism competitiveness according to analyze the current situation of competitiveness study at home and abroad; construction the evaluation model of urban tourism competitiveness based on the current competitiveness model; construction the index system of urban tourism competitiveness the use of AHP in this problem, which is just a basic theory and hope the others can offer their valuable ideas. At the same time, the thesis discusses some deficiencies about itself, for example, substitute approximative indicators for primary indicators, which may influence the reliability of the evaluation model. So a piece of consummate index system of urban tourism competitiveness is necessary, which are research directions about the evaluation of urban tourism competitiveness in the future.
