Empirical Study On Development Of KIBS In Shandong Province

Knowledge-intensive business service (KIBS) is a conception with characteristic of the times. It came along with the information technology, and developed based on the knowledge. Shandong province is an economic big province, so developing the service industry especially the KIBS, is of great significance to its development.In this paper, we draw lessons from the research achievements of KIBS home and abroad to divide KIBS into 5 classes and 16 categories according to the latest academic standards. And we build personality indicators and integrated indicators to evaluate the KIBS on the basis of its characteristics and the principles of setting up index system.Secondly, we make data statistic through vertical and horizontal personality indicators to analyze the present situation of the KIBS in Shandong province. We get a clue of its trend, and compare it with the other parts of China in 2005; then using AHP and factor analysis, we get data for integrated indicators and analyze them to obtain the comprehensive rank, and give a reasonable explanation combined with the personality index value.Finally, with the previous results, we use SWOT to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the KIBS in Shandong province. And we give overall proposals and solutions to the KIBS in Shandong province.Meanwhile, we provide specific and practical measurements for different businesses in light of their different characteristics.
