Research On Application Of SWOT Analysis In Constituting Enterprise Patent Strategy

In the 21st century, market competition is actually competition of scientific technology and patent. It is exertion a decisive role to constitute correctly and actualize patent strategy when enterprises want to make advantage in market competition. As main bodies of market economy, enterprises will face more open and drastic competition environment after China entering WTO, it is very important to constitute and actualize feasible patent strategy in order to gain victory in market competition. The appearance and application of enterprise patent strategy have brought some changes of enterprise management practices, for which scientific management theory and technology are needed urgently. SWOT analysis is a method for strategy analysis, it has already been used widely in enterprise strategy management. Patent strategy is the top level of enterprise strategy, SWOT analysis method could provide proofs for constituting feasible patent strategy.In this thesis, SWOT analysis is introduced to manage talent strategy for enterprises by transplanting method. Based on principles and methods of enterprise management, and combining with investigative methods of some subjects such as synthetic economics and law of knowledge property right, the problems of constituting patent strategy are studied. In this thesis, the feasibility that theories of SWOT analysis apply to constitute patent strategy is demonstrated at first. Furthermore, the constituting process of enterprise patent strategy based on SWOT analysis is studied mainly. By analyzing inner and outer environment of enterprise, selecting associated and pivotal factors, advantages and disadvantages existing in enterprise, threats and opportunities in outer environment are determined. Using graph representation of two-dimension matrix, implementing patent strategy matching in terms of characters of enterprise, patent strategy practice based on SWOT analysis is realized. Some advices are presented for constituting patent strategy using SWOT analysis. In demonstration analysis, Hair'double powers washer', the exploitation case is analyzed, and its management pattern in application is tested. This pattern is simple and operable.
