Qualitative modeling and simulation of employee's group behavior under web environment are studied in this paper, by integrating qualitative simulation technology and group theory.Firstly, the background, support fund and purpose of this paper are clarified. Group theory and researches on employee's behavior under web environment is introduced. The definitions of web environment and employee's behavior in this paper are given.Secondly, the theories of qualitative simulation for goup behavior are introduced.They are QSIM by Kuipers, causal ordering by Simon, qualitative process theory by Forbus and Cellular Automata within nature science field.Thirdly, properties and causal factors of group system under web environment are analyzed, in which the factor of web is especially focused on. Based on them, the model of group dynamics is built using causal ordering and QSIM, respectively.After that, qualitative simulation of employee's behavior is studied using qualitative process theory and Cellular Automata, respectively. The qualitative process theory is used to treat the evolution of behavior as a process, so that the direction of the successive behavior is forecasted. Cellular Automata are integrated with QSIM. Cellular Automata are applied to describing the evolution of behavior, and QSIM to simulation of it. Both are coded by VB6.0.In the end, the conclusion is drawn. The further researches are given.
