A Study On Urban Government Function In Sustainable Development

With the development of urbanization, city is playing an increasingly important role in China's social and economic development. The social, economic and ecological problems also come along with urbanization, which made sustainable development our main strategy. Urban government is the major force of shaping urban function, and whether its function can put into play is crucial to sustainable development. The study on urban government function in sustainable development involves: bringing urban government function into sustainable development, analyzing problems and reasons of city government function in sustainable development, thus trying to find out how to position urban government function in sustainable development.This paper firstly cleared the connotations of sustainable development and urban government function, then analyzed the problems and reasons of urban government function in sustainable development by the way of standard analysis and comparative analysis. Therefore give answer to how to position urban government function in sustainable development.This paper contains five chapters. First is the introductory chapter, the second chapter generally analyzed the connotations of sustainable development and urban government function by the way of standard analysis. The third chapter discussed the challenge that sustainable strategy brought to urban government function through the illustration of problems caused by sustainable development. The fourth chapter analyzed the existing weakness in China's urban government functions through the comparative analysis of China and western urban government functions. The fifth chapter tentatively positioned urban government function in China's sustainable development under the basis of all the above analysis.
