Research On The Problem Of Multi-Project Resource Leveling With Fixed Project Duration

While more and more enterprises are facing the challenge of multi-project management, multi-project management is being the hot-point of project management thesis and practice. In multi-project circumstance, sharing and competing resources often occurs. Therefore, Enterprises should allocate each resource reasonably and effectively, in order to shorten the cost of projects and to increase the benefit.Based on the investigating of a large number of domestic and foreign references, this paper researched around resource allocation problem with fixed project duration in multi-project. At first we studied the knowledge of project management and multi-project management and resource optimizations by the numbers, especially in optimum ways and solutions of the resource leveling problem. We found that multi-project resource leveling is a large-scare , complex combinatorial problem, common Optimize Algorithms used in optimizing resource balance problem could not bare its complexity and received limited effect. Then on the basis of analysising basic elements of multi-project resource leveling and presenting the principle of network program and the cacultation of time parameter, this paper designed the mode of multi-project resurce leveling problem.According to the characteristicis of multi-project resurce leceling problem with fixed duration and this model, A new genetic algorithm called IP ?μGA was introduced which improved the performance of basic genetic algorithm and avoided the premature convergence. The new algorithm adopted elitism and uniform crossover, To maintain the genetic diversity, theμGA used a restart strategy, not the conventional mutation operation. the simulation about resource leveling problem of multi-project showed the new algorithms is effective to solve this problem, It help for supply department to plan and arrange resource.
