As a result, it is of undutiful importance and agency to upgrade the competitiveness of this industry under the backdrop of the booming but ruthless market.On the whole, the Chinese Pharmaceutical industry is still in its infancy, however, it grows soundly in contrast with the slow-down of the mature markets in the Europe and US. The share of pharmaceutical industry in the national GDP is expanding due to the continuous rise of production and sales in recent years, as well as the fast increase in exportation. The status quo of its prosperity is consisted with the introduction of large corporation of foreign capital, the relatively cheap labor force and the backup from the government. The imbalanced economic development among districts, especially in a large country like China, in addition to the realistic factor of their own, make it different in the local competitiveness and the way to press themselves forward.The following analysis is trying to establish and practice a complex competitiveness index evaluation system on pharmaceutical industry according to its features as a hi-tech industry, on the basis of the former study on the relevant research. The system can be divided into 4 primary indexes, including production, marketing, technology and capital compositeness, which can re-divided into 20 secondary indexes. By the means of SPSS software, the detailed index statistics about all the domestic regions in 2000, 2003 and 2004, is analyzed in its main components on the whole. In the meanwhile, the complex competitiveness of these three years in the regions, also their scores of primary index compositeness and ranks are under covered through the SPSS factor score method. Complying with the situation and changes in the rank, the complex competitiveness of China pharmaceutical industry in different regions can be named into strong, medium and weak grades, with the corresponding typical areas of Jiangsu, Tianjin and Jiangxi. Via the demonstration analysis result, deduce the main factors which improve the development of pharmaceutical industry, and make a conclusion on the fatal factors of the development in different areas with different conditions, to provide a reference on how to accelerate our pace on pharmaceutical industry development.
