Nowadays, in terms of speeding economy, protecting environment and maintaining social justness, many cities in the world are faced with such dilemmas. Since the policy of reforming and opening, with the rapid development of China' economy, cities in our country have been developing greatly. Objectively, urban development requires adjusting urban structure, which makes its layout reasonable, so as to adapt to the development of social productivity as well as people's requirement of improving living conditions. Thus, urban renewal becomes a certain trend. Because of land development is the basis and premise of the development of urban economy and society, the first step for urban renewal is to develop urban land, making it first for urban development.With the background of great development of China's economy and the upheaval of urban structure, this dissertation aims at some new phenomena and problems during the process of urban renewal and land development, making a discussion in detail.In terms of contents, this paper analyses the market environment, including land market and every parts of interest in the process of urban renewal, basis on theories of urban renewal, from the point of land development. Besides, the thesis also focuses on the land developers' behaviors in decision-making of investment by game theory and urban economics. Finally, this dissertation analyses the activities of land development from two aspects of financing modes and renewing strategy, by the demonstration of CBD construction of Lujiazui of Shanghai. By all the study above, this dissertation tries to provide some good reference for urban renewal of our country.
