Jack Welch ever said,"Any company who wants to win by competition must manage to make its employees engaged."Knowledge worker is a capital—human resource capital for a company and becoming the most important driving force of value creation of a company. More and more companies, especially software development corporations, have some management problems of high turnover of knowledge workers, causing them not able to ultimately exert on their talents, which confuses the managers and draws the concern from the academic circle.Facing this condition, more and more domestic companies often sought ways to improve employee engagement, especially knowledge worker's, however, it does not turn out to be effective. According to this reality and confusion, this paper constructs a conceptual model and related hypotheses and validates by survey and data analyses on the basis of reviewing literatures, in hope of providing some practical guidance for managers and improving a company's employee engagement.This paper consists of five chapters.Chapter 1 is the summary of research. It mainly analyzes the background of the topic and briefly illustrates the theoretical and practical meaning and the framework of this research. Chapter 2 reviews the related research. Two sections involve: the first is the literature of knowledge workers and motivation of them. The second part is the related theory and empirical study and theory of engagement, employee engagement and affecting factors.Chapter 3 is the construction of the model and the proposal of hypotheses. Based on the review of the related study, the research framework of constructing the employee engagement affecting factors conceptual model is constructed and related hypotheses are proposed.Chapter 4 is the empirical analyses of the factors of knowledge worker's engagement. According to the survey data, the paper analyzes and tests the conceptual model and related hypotheses.Chapter 5 summarizes the research, concludes the main innovation and points out the limitations and further research direction.
