In the era of knowledge economy,knowledge has become the primary key factor in promoting economic development and technological progress.Enterprises should keep up with the trend of the times,continuously innovate and develop,we must pay attention to the role of knowledge.As knowledge was attached to the minds of people,knowledge workers naturally become the core resources of the enterprise.However,knowledge workers themselves have the knowledge and technology,which are mostly hidden,not easy to be clearly expressed,it is not easy to be transferred,developed and used.Which led to difficulties of the knowledge staff itself is not easy to quantify the management,and even bring out the core knowledge and technical after leaving the enterprise.Therefore,companies need to pay close attention to the dynamics of knowledge workers,to understand and meet the needs of these knowledge workers,effectively reduce the turnover rate of these employees and to enhance their performance for enterprises,for enterprises to bring good business performance.To this end,the academic field began to pay attention to the issue of knowledge workers engagement.Previous studies have shown that enhancing the engagement of knowledge workers can effectively increase their job satisfaction,emotional commitment,and reduce their willingness to leave.First of all,this paper combs the research literature of engagement and job performance.It mainly focuses on the conceptualization,content dimension,the former variables and the outcome variables of the knowledge worker's engagement and job performance and the relationship between job performance.On this basis,combined with the corresponding theoretical point of view,put forward the hypothesis of this study.Then,the implementation of the questionnaire,reached the conclusions.The Utrecht Engagement Scale(UWES)developed by Schaufeli et al.The performance measurement scale was developed by Han wing and the peripheral performance measurement scale was developed by Van Scotter&Motowildlo.Then state-owned,foreign,Shareholding system,private enterprises and public institutions of the actual situation of knowledge workers were investigate and analyze,the recovery of 323 valid questionnaires.The data were obtained by questionnaire,and the data were tested by reliability,validity test,descriptive statistical analysis and regression analysis using Spss19.0 software to verify the theoretical hypothesis.The results show that the existing level of professionalism and job performance of knowledge workers in our country is higher,but there is still a lot of room for improvement.In the case of demographic variables,there are significant differences in the degree of engagement among different types of knowledge workers.The knowledge workers with different types of gender,marital status,age,education,job category,working life and unit nature.There are significant differences in the performance of the knowledge workers with different marital status.There are no significant differences in the performance of the knowledge workers with different gender,age,education,job category,working life and unit nature.The correlation analysis shows that the degree of engagement and its dimensions have a significant positive correlation with job performance and its dimensions.
