Analysis Of Urban Land Use Changes And The Driving Force

Land is the material basis of mankind's survival and development and it is the most important factor of production. The nature, society, economy, technology and land constitute a complex and interactive relation of people and land. Land use reasonable or not is closely related to people's lives and affects the coordinated development of the national economic departments in proportion.In this paper, Penglai City is taken as an example to analyze the urban land use from three aspects. Through taking the entropy of information and balance of land use structure of Penglai City from 1994 to 2004 and analyzing the changes of land use in 11 years , the paper reaches the conclusion that through the transformation of the old cities, industry adjustment and land replacement, Penglai City optimizes the structure of land use while economic is developed and cities are expanded rapidly. Land use is developing to a balanced and reasonable direction.This paper constructs the land use potentiality evaluation model of Penglai City and uses fuzzy composite evaluation method to evaluate the land use potentiality and leads to the conclusion that land use of Penglai City in the overall is in an extensive stage and there is great potentiality for land use. In particular, Penglai City need to make greater efforts to optimize the structure of land, increase the intensity of land use, make full use of existing urban land and improve the level of intensification of land use.A research on driving force of land-use changes. Using of the software SPSS to make principal component analysis of the changes of Penglai City land area and leading to the conclusion that the changes of Penglai City land area is promoted mainly by the population, the intensity of investment and the industrial development. And Penglai City has made too much emphasis on urban development to neglect the cultivated land protection work.
