The small and medium-size businesses play the very important role in our country's economy development and cannot be substituted. In the e-century with economy globalization, the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are struggling to survive and develop facing with great pressure. ERP systems become a very useful tool for small and medium-size businesses which can help them to enhance competitive power. Consequently, more and more SMEs are introducing the ERP system. However it is not an easy job for SMEs to implement ERP system because they lack of talent, management skills and technical expertise. So it is extremely important to help SMEs succeed in implementation and application of ERP system.Shenzhen Neware Electron Limited Company is an electronic installation production enterprise with high growing speed. After entering WTO, fierce competition from market requires the company to introducing advanced business management method to promote development. So an ERP system suiting for SMEs with comprehensive function and extending ability is necessary for the company to be used in its management.Through the case of the ERP implementation project in Neware Company, this article took the SBO, an ERP product of SAP for SMEs, as an example to analyze the critical success factors of ERP implementation and application in SMEs. The author attempts to summarize the critical success factors (CSFs) and right methods that will smooth the implementation and application of ERP system in Neware Company and in other SMEs.
