In the field of economics, Milton Friedman is considered one of the most famous people as a economists. As a founder of Monetarism, he put forward thought of economy liberalism, which has gave great effect to US and the world. As a scholar, Friedman is not only a pure economist, who integrated economic research with philosophy and ethics, and his economic has dense ethical color, which is obvious especially in his works of "Capitalism And Freedom", "Free to Choose".Economic ethic thoughts of Friedman is the successor of bourgeois classical liberal economic theory and is characteristic of opposition and resistance to Keynesian; it contains the theories, ideologies and policies that adapt to the requirement of the change from state monopoly capitalism to international monopoly capitalism. The basic assertion of economic ethic thoughts of Friedman is as follows: Adhere to laissez faire, Object to country's intervening; Emphasize personal freedom, and think the economy freedom as most importance; Believe the market mechanism self-moving regulation, and lay claim to maintain the market competition; Lay claim to establish "small government", and oppose the welfare state system. These thoughts provide the great important significance to our socialist market economic construction. We can deeply recognize the character of market economic institution from it, meanwhile, we can have more definite view about the disadvantage of planned economy.The paper is divided into six parts , The first part introduces the background & significance of the choice of the argument, the contents & methods of research. The second part analyzes the historical origin and the philosophy foundation of economic ethic thoughts of Friedman. The third part pointed out that the freedom, the efficiency, the equality are three great cornerstones of economic ethic thoughts of Friedman, and promulgates the logical relations among them. The fourth part analyzes main contents in economic ethic thoughts of Friedman, including the economic freedom, government intervenes ethics in the competition capitalism, enterprise's social responsibility, the unfairly of welfare state system and so on. The fifth part appraises the economic ethic thoughts of Friedman, pointing out its positive sense and the limitation. The sixth part is a conclusion.
