Discuss Friedman's Liberal Economic Institutional Ethic Thoughts

As a neo-liberalism Economist, Friedman's thinking on economic institution and his evaluation of the market economy and the planned economy from the morality angle involve deep ethics thoughts obviously. His thinking has great significances on the construction of the socialist market economy, which is being carried out on our country at present. It can let us deepen the cognition to the market economy, improve the market economy institution in our country, and have a clearer view on the planned economy. Friedman has spared no effort in criticizing the planned economy, but he deviated from the spirit basing on facts because of the class limitation and subjectivity. However it has been worthy for us to draw lessons and ponder over the matters. For instance, Friedman has thought that the planned economy will lead to economy dictatorship and thus to the suppression of individual freedom, which has been tested sufficiently either in our country before the reform or in Soviet Union.This thesis intends to explore Friedman's liberal economic institution ethics thoughts from three aspects to which three chapters are devoted. The first chapter introduce the ethics basis of Friedman'liberal economy institution ethics. I argue that Friedman sets off his ethics thought of liberal economy institution from the philosophy foundation of the individualism methodology and the liberalism.We intent to discuss the substance of Friedman's liberal economic institution ethics thought in chapter II. In chapter II we introduce the basic concept of his liberal economy institution firstly, which is the starting point of Friedman'liberal economy institution ethics thought. Then we focus on the ethics thought expounding liberal economy institution. In the contrast of the efficiency,liberty,equality of the liberal economy institution and the efficiency,liberty,equality of planned economy, he draws the conclusion that the liberal economy institution is reasonable.In chapter III we carry out investigation and discussion on positive aspects and defects of Friedman's ethics thought of liberal economy institution, then appraise its active significance through its application in our socialism market economy. Lastly we assess Friedman's bourgeoisie utilitarianism thought, class limitation, and his disagreement of the government conduction to the market economy and the defect of the liberty view.
